Well, I haven't posted in a while. So many things have happened. My husband finished up all his school projects and finals and then about four days later he had appendicitis...the same day we found out we were having another baby.(that will be a great joke someday!) He didn't know he had appendicitis so he didn't go to the E.R. until the next day after I told him some of the symptoms of appendicitis(my strange fascination for reading medical things came in handy this time!) So, out the bad thing came and he recovered just in time to walk at his graduation!!! We feel so blessed that he got appendicitis after his finals and before graduation...it was timed perfectly. He is doing great now.
My husband also started his new job...now we will all get new insurance. It will be nice, but I am stressed out about Joshua's needs and doctors. He has been on an open medical coupon since he was born and can see any doctor he needs to. He can receive any therapy or orthotic he needs. MY husband will make too much for Joshua to stay on state insurance. We have to decide which plan to choose. One doesn't have his Neurosurgeon on it...the other plan doesn't have his primary care provider and doesn't seem as good. I don't trust any other neurosurgeon with Josh. We have seen the same one for 6 years now and he is so confident and skilled. I trust him with Joshua when. We have been out of town before and had shunt scares...those other neurosurgeons just didn't understand what was going on with Josh's ventricles...some were trying to punch on his shunt(it could break his)..some wanted to poke it with a needle(a procedure that is sometimes necessary, but it wasn't at the time and a resident wanted to do that...they treated Josh like a lab rat...we didn't allow the procedure of course and he was fine). Anyway...I also don't trust any other eye doctor...the one Josh has saved his vision. So my husband is going to call the insurance companies to try to figure something out. I am sure things will work out. It is just stressful. I don't know how much therapy will be covered either. At least Josh is showing great improvements.
With so many changes happening it took a while for the news of my new pregnancy to sink in. It still seems unreal. I am only about seven weeks along. We planned this baby and are very excited. Nathan is almost two now, so he will be about two and a half when the baby is born. I made my first appointment with my doctor in two weeks. Then I will probably have an ultra sound to rule out twins and set a surgery date to get my cerclage put in. Last time I had it put in at the end of my eleventh week. It wasn't as bad as the first two times. I am hoping for a good outcome this time too. I can't believe I am going to get big all over again. I hope I don't have to be on bed rest. Yuck. Well, I need to go.
I am looking forward to the summer when things slow down a little bit. I'll posy more later. Thanks for reading.
