Auditory processing

Hello everyone!
It has been a while since I posted last. We have been busy! The kids had just gotten over some respiratory cold last time I wrote. Well, not too long after that my two youngest kids(3 and 1) Started breathing funny at night. My daughter(3) would start stridder breathing then stop breathing and then cough a bunch. The baby had similar problems, but not as bad.
We almost took my daughter to the ER, but then her breathing would get better. We finally called her lung specialist and they said it was a mix between her asthma and croup. She was put on an oral steroid, and Xopenex nebulizer treatments on top of her singular. She also had to get a sinus x-ray. That same day we took Nathan(1 year old) to his pediatrician. The doctor told us he had the beginnings of asthma and put him on albuterol treatments until the cough was gone. That evening, my husband and I were up at least every hour and a half to administer the nebulizer treatments to one or the other child. Meanwhile, our former micropreemie (now five) with lung disease and asthma slept soundly. Kind of ironic, since he is usually the more sick one. We did have to take Hannah into the ER one evening for her breathing...she is now getting a bit better.
What are the chances of having three with asthma? My husband and I just laughed. Neither of us have it. So strange. I AM SO EXCITED TO GET OUR FLU SHOTS!!!!! I look forward to it every year...it means less sickness!! Yahooooooooo
Today, Joshua has an appointment with an audiologist to test for an "auditory processing disorder." HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS? DOES ANYONE HAVE A CHILD WITH THIS? We have know since he was two that he may have it, but the tests can't be preformed untill at least five years of age. HE may still be too young for the tests..I hope not. If he does have it than we can have a diagnoses which will get him more help, so he can be successful in school next year. Two step directions are still very hard for him. He did have significant brain damage after birth(grade 3+ brain bleed which developed into hydrocephalus), so he is a little more likely to have processing problems.
HE did excellent in his physical and speech therapies this morning. Something else exciting happened with Joshua three days ago! HE LEARNED HOW TO DO A SOMERSAULT ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!! We were so proud. It may sound so small, but it is a huge milestone for Joshua..I truly thought he would never learn how to do one. He was so excited...he has been practicing them over and over and over. Hannah has been able to do them since she was 1, so he has been watching and trying. He was so pleased to show Hannah what he could do and she said, "Great job Joshy!!!" They are such good friends.
Well, I need to go make lunch for the kiddos. I am so glad that I can be their mom. They have taught me so much. I wish I could have 10 of them, but I am afraid I would go bonkers if they were all sick and they all need albuterol treatments. Instead of two nebulizers going at a time, I would have at least seven or more going at a time. We could start a nebulizer band!!!
I hope all is well with everyone. Thank you for reading!
